After blood centrifugation , the specimen can be separated into serum ( top ) , separation gel ( middle ) and blood corpuscle ( lower ) . In the middle of the tube, a thick layer of separation gel can completely isolate serum from blood corpuscle, so as to ensure the purity of serum.

Method of application:
1.When blood was collected to serum separation tube , we should immediately invert the tube gently for 3-5 times ( so as to mix blood fully with coagulant ) .
2.After the blood completely solidified ( usually for nearly 18 minutes ) , the tube was put into the centrifuge , making sure that the speed of rotation would be 3000-3500 r/min, and after 5-10 minutes we could get the serum we needed.
3.And then we put the tube directly into the automatic biochemical analyzer to carry out biochemical test.
