When to use the filter tip technique?

Filter pipette nozzles must be used in all contamination-sensitive molecular biology applications. The filter cartridge nozzle helps to reduce the possibility of smoke formation and prevent aerosol contamination, thereby protecting the pipette shaft from cross contamination. In addition, a filter barrier prevents sample removal from the pipette, thereby preventing PCR contamination.

The filter core suction also prevents the pipette from being damaged by the sample entering the pipette during pipetting.
