How to wear:

Taking a hard neck brace as an example, the wearing steps are as follows:

1. After selecting the appropriate size of the cervical collar, place the back piece of the cervical collar behind the patient’s neck so that the collar is in the center.

2. Place the patient’s chin firmly in the groove of the front piece of the cervical collar. The front piece of the neck brace compresses the back piece for effective fixation and comfort.

3. Adjust from both sides with Velcro to fasten the neck brace without affecting the patient’s normal breathing.Specification&Attention

Precautions:

1. Clean the neck skin and replace the pads 1-2 times a day.

2. Maintenance of the neck brace: Clean the neck brace with a soft brush dipped in warm water or cold boiled water and detergent, dry it with a towel, and dry it in a cool place. Do not dry it with a hair dryer or in the hot sun to avoid deformation.

3. Continue to wear a cervical collar for 3 months after discharge, avoid strenuous neck exercise, continue limb function training, and stop doing certain activities that over-mobilize the cervical spine.

4. The neck brace can be worn during the day and removed during rest. Long-term application of the neck brace will cause neck and back muscle atrophy and joint stiffness, so the wearing time should not be too long. After the symptoms are gradually relieved, it should be removed in time to strengthen muscle exercise.

5. Before stopping using the cervical collar, you must go to the hospital for a re-examination, and then decide when to stop using it.
